A Visit to an International Trade Fair
In the month of March, I went to see the International Trade Fair with my friends. This fair was held in the Pragati Maidan of Delhi. It was the inauguration day of the fair. And ity inauguration ceremony was a colourful and dignified event. The lighting of the auspicious lamps and the breaking of a cocunut was followed by folk dances. The Chief Minister declared the fair open. Almost all the major countries of the world participated in this fair. The leading industrial nations—the U.S.A., Germany, Japan and England — had put up very huge and attractive stalls in the fair. The main attraction of the fair were electronic gadgets and automobiles. And the latest gadgets and household items and machinery dominated the display list. Multinational companies like L.G., Samsung, Nokia, Skoda, Honda, Hyundai, Reebok too registered their presence in the fair. Local industries and companies too recorded their presence. But it was the Chinese Pavillion that attracted the biggest crowd. At the Japanese and Korean stalls, we saw the latest models of TV’s and computers. The French and German stalls displayed their wondrous limousines. However, the Indian Nano was also a big attraction. We went round the fair for about two hours. We came back wondering at the amazing developments in the field of science and technology.
